MANCHESTER, NH — Victory Park was transformed on Thursday to an open-air market as the all-new Manchester Community Market launched under a big blue sky, with much fanfare.

Intown Manchester’s Sarah Beaudry dished up free cake, provided by Chantenay Patisserie and Bakery of Chester, just one of many new vendors who encircled the park with their tents and wares.

Market Manager Wendy Stevens worked hard  behind the scenes to bring shoppers more of what they want – more vendors, more variety, multi-cultural entertainment and community spirit.

Flip through some photos below, and watch the video above, which we streamed live on Facebook just after the 3 p.m. launch. It’s a casual walk-about as the vendors were finishing their set up, but it gives you a sense of the wide range of things you’ll find each week, from fresh dairy, meat and seafood, to chocolate, baked goods, coffee, honey, produce, dried beans, plants, wood crafts, fresh lemonade and more, all homegrown New Hampshire goods.

You can also tickle the ivories while you’re there on Thursdays — or any day — thanks to the first installment of the Keys to the City/Street Piano project.
