Manchester Police are investigating a report of criminal mischief involving a local FairPoint communications equipment box.

Manchester Sgt. Brian O’Keefe said vandals cut wires in a junction box on River Road.

No other incidents have been reported, although a second junction box on Lake Avenue had been opened, but no damage was done, O’Keefe said.

O’Keefe referred to a photograph circulating via Twitter of the damaged wires posted by WMUR’s Adam Sexton in describing the damage.

An active investigation is underway. Anyone with information should contact Manchester Police at 603-624-4040.
