MANCHESTER, NH – The 2016 Granite State Debates will be held in the auditorium of the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College. In advance of the election on November 8, the debates will span four days, beginning Tuesday, November 1, and continuing through Friday, November 4. Sponsored by WMUR-TV and the New Hampshire Union Leader, the debates will air live on WMUR-TV, and will stream live on WMUR.com and WMUR’s mobile apps beginning at 7 p.m. each night.

A limited number of seats are available to the public for each debate. Those interested in sitting as a member of the live audience can register for the audience lottery. Selectees will be notified via email to confirm attendance no later than October 31.

Tuesday, November 1
Gubernatorial candidates Chris Sununu (R) and Colin Van Ostern (D)

Wednesday, November 2
U.S. Senate candidates Kelly Ayotte (R) and Maggie Hassan (D)

Thursday, November 3
1st Congressional District candidates Frank Guinta (R) and Carol Shea-Porter (D)

Friday, November 4
2nd Congressional District candidates Jim Lawrence (R) and Annie Kuster (D)

Saint Anselm College has been a proud host of the Granite State Debates for several election cycles. The New Hampshire Institute of Politics auditorium will be converted into a live television studio, and dozens of Kevin B. Harrington Student Ambassadors will support the production, assisting candidates and staff behind the scenes throughout debate week. Each night, up to 15 students will serve as candidate attendants, press assistants, ushers and runners.

The Granite State Debates conclude a busy election season at Saint Anselm. The college hosted two nationally televised presidential primary debates in partnership with ABC News during the winter of 2015-16.
