Union Street Cumby’s robber flashes gun at clerk

Manchester PD LogoPolice are looking for a robber who flashed a handgun at the clerk before fleeing the store with cash early Saturday morning.

At about 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 23 Manchester Police responded to Cumberland Farms Convenience Store, 217 Union St., for an armed robbery. Patrol Officer Casey Finn was the initial responder and spoke with the clerk who provided a description of the armed robber.

He is described as a heavy-set white male, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot 10 inches tall, with white hair, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a blue bandana, which was covering his face. The robber pulled up his shirt and showed the clerk a black handgun that was tucked in his waistband.

The robber demanded cash from the register and then grabbed  an unknown amount of cash before fleeing on foot.  A police dog was brought in and followed the trail of the robber, which ended in the area of Harvard Street.
