CONCORD, NH  – This week’s “Fugitive of the Week,” Nicole Wells, was arrested March 4 in Manchester, NH by members of the U.S. Marshals – NH Joint Fugitive Task Force. Wells was wanted on an outstanding federal arrest warrant for supervised release violations. Wells was on supervised release as a result of her conviction and sentence in a 2008 case for distribution of cocaine.

The “Fugitive of the Week” continues to be a very successful tool that has resulted in the location and arrest of numerous fugitives since its implementation in 2007.

Information was developed as part of the ongoing investigation and through several leads provided by the public. This morning, this information led investigators to an apartment in the 200 block of Grove Street in Manchester. After knocking and announcing that it was the Police, the door was opened by Wells, who said “here I am,” and was taken into custody without incident.

Wells was brought directly to the U.S. District Court in Concord, NH for processing and her initial court appearance. As a result of this court appearance, Wells was ordered detained until her final revocation hearing at a later date.

Several member agencies of the NH Joint Fugitive Task Force made this arrest possible, including the Manchester Police Department, the Belknap, Hillsborough & Strafford County Sheriff’s Offices along with deputy US Marshals.

Since the inception of the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, these partnerships have resulted in over 5,869 arrests (Updated as of 12/4/2014). These arrests have ranged in seriousness from murder, assault, unregistered sex offenders, probation and parole violations and numerous other serious offenses. Nationally the United States Marshals Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in 94 district offices, 85 local fugitive task forces, 7 regional task forces, as well as a growing network of offices in foreign countries.
