MANCHESTER, N.H. – A four-run seventh inning spelled the difference on Monday night as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats fell 5-1 to the Trenton Thunder.

Trenton and New Hampshire each came into that pivotal inning knotted up, following an RBI single by Trenton’s Isiah Gilliam in the fourth and an RBI double from New Hampshire’s Chad Spanberger in the sixth.

That seventh-inning Trenton rally began with another double, this one from Hoy Jun Park. The next four Trenton batters reached base and an Angel Aguilar double brought in the inning’s fourth and final run, chasing New Hampshire pitcher Yennsy Diaz from the contest.

Diaz (10-9) was the loser, giving up two earned runs and three unearned runs off seven hits, striking out seven in 6 2/3 innings.

The win went to Trevor Lane (2-2), four his eight outs of one-hit middle relief.

Brock Lundquist had two of New Hampshire’s seven hits on the night.

The Fisher Cats and Thunder continue the series on Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. at Delta Dental Stadium. Hector Perez is expected to start for New Hampshire against Trenton’s Clarke Schmidt.
