MANCHESTER, NH β A tractor-trailer was traveling South on 93 when it lost control as it was approaching the 293 merge. The trailer slid off the road on to the banking and ended up on its side. Manchester Fire, and NH State Police responded to the scene which closed down two lanes of travel on 93 SB and caused significant traffic issues. I-293 was open and unrestricted but did have traffic slow downs.
MFD safely dealt with a small puncture in one of the diesel tanks. Bauchman Towing responded with multiple units and rolled the truck back on to its wheels and towed it from the scene.
The driver from Illinois was driving for a company from Missouri and had just emptied the truck at Associated Grocers in Pembroke. Having the trailer empty expedited the removal process, which hampered traffic for approximately 1.5 hours. The driver self was not injured and able to get out of the truck without assistance. NHSP is handling the investigation.
