Tow truck hauling mail truck on I-293 rolls over, snarls traffic for 4 hours

MANCHESTER, NH — On June 20, 2019, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Troopers from New Hampshire State Police Troop B responded to a motor vehicle crash located on I-293 south at the lower split to I-93 north in Manchester.

On arrival, it was learned that Zachary Allard, 23, of Manchester,  was operating a flatbed tow truck owned by Queen City Towing. Allard lost control of the tow truck which resulted in the vehicle rolling over the guardrail on the left side of the roadway, striking a light post.

Allard was towing a U.S. Postal truck at the time of the crash which became separated from the tow truck. There were no injuries reported as a result of the crash, however traffic was restricted to one lane for approximately four hours while Manchester Fire, Duval’s Towing, Eversource Energy and Department of Transportation crews worked to remove the vehicles from the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation and any information pertaining to the incident can be forwarded to Trooper Merritt of the New Hampshire State Police Troop B Barracks. Travis.Merritt@dos.nh.gov
