KNOXVILLE, TN –  After four days of tough competition among 1,464 teams from 20 countries and 48 states, in the end, everybody wanted to be where five New Hampshire teams were Saturday night: On stage at Destination Imagination Global Finals being awarded and rewarded for demonstrating their excellence in using their creativity, collaboration and problem solving skills in STEAM and social entrepreneurship based challenges.

In all, 21 of New Hampshire’s 41 teams finished in the top 25 spots in their respective challenge and age level during the competition, held the last week of May.

Teams from Hollis-Brookline, Londonderry, Southern New Hampshire University, Sunapee Middle-High School and Highbridge Elementary School  in New Ipswich all scored awards and were called to the stage in front of some 25,000 people at the University of Tennessee Thompson-Boling Arena. The event was webcast around the world and viewed by thousands more.

  • Hollis/Brookline DI -The Doors-New Hampshire,130-05679- Musical Mashup-Structural Challenge, Renaissance Award – Given for outstanding design engineering execution and/or performance.
  • Highbridge Hill Elementary-HHES, Team 130-77937, Pace of Change-Technical Challenge, DaVinci Award – Given for having a unique approach to a solution for risk taking and/or for outstanding creativity.
  • Londonderry – Team L.U.D.I -cris, 130-72953- Second Place- Close Encounters- Improvisation Challenge and High Instant Challenge Award (Measuring short-term problem solving).
  • Sunapee Middle High School, Second Place, 130-13574, Get A Clue, Fine Arts Challenge, Team The Cats Pajamas
  • Southern New Hampshire University, Third Place, Musical Mashup-Structural Challenge, 130-82346, SNHU Man Group

Destination Imagination teams work on open-ended, complex challenges with focuses that are technical, scientific, structural, fine arts, improvisational, and social entrepreneurship.
