MANCHESTER, NH –  New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster, and Manchester Police Chief Nick Willard announce that the Manchester Police Department is currently investigating the untimely death of a 21-month old at a residence on Belmont Street over the weekend.

The child, whose name is being withheld due to her age, was at home when 911 was called around 1:35 p.m. on  September 5. The child was eventually transported to the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock where she died Sunday night. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8 in Concord, New Hampshire.

The child was residing at her home on Belmont Street at the time 911 was called. Investigators do not believe that there is any general threat to the public at this time. Anyone who has any information relevant to this investigation is asked to contact the Juvenile Investigative Unit at the Manchester Police Department at (603) 668-8711.
