The Trenton Thunder walloped the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Saturday night, and they did the same in the first part of their Sunday doubleheader against New Hampshire, recording a 14-3 victory.

Tito Polo got the Thunder on the board in the first with a home run toward the Sam Adams Bar and Grill, but that was only the beginning.

Trenton added six more in the fourth followed by Rashad Crawford’s homer in the fifth. Another six runs in the sixth, including a grand slam by Jorge Mateo, sealed victory for the visitors.

The Thunder ended with 15 hits, as every Trenton batter except for Vincente Conde recording at least one hit. Polo, Mateo and Crawford each had two hits, as did Mike Ford. Thairo Estrada did them all one better, going 3-for-5.

New Hampshire’s batters recorded 10 hits of their own, with Gunnar Heidt, Harold Ramirez and Ryan McBroom each getting two. McBroom’s second hit cleared the fence for his tenth home run of the year.

Francisco Rios (3-7) was on the hook for seven of Trenton’s runs in the loss, leaving two outs into the fourth.

Domingo Acevedo (3-0) scattered eight hits in five innings, striking out seven New Hampshire batters.

After the loss, New Hampshire fell to 1-11 so far this year against the Eastern Division leaders
