CONCORD, NH – A man from Massachusetts faces multiple charges after he was pulled over by State Police for driving the wrong way on Interstate 93.

This is the third report of a wrong-way driver on a NH interstate highway this week. Two other incidents were reported, on Dec. 10 at the Hooksett Tolls and on Dec. 12  on I-89 in Hopkinton.

On December 13 at approximately 6:15 a.m. reports were made to State Police Troop B Dispatch by numerous motorists about a vehicle heading the wrong way on I-93. Troopers located the vehicle driven by Andy Marzara, 22, of Lawrence, Mass., as it traveled southbound from Windham into Salem in the northbound lanes on Interstate 93.  Trooper A.J. Marciano positioned himself in a crossover just south of the vehicle’s location and successfully stopped the vehicle north of Exit 2.

Marzara was arrested and charged with reckless conduct, driving while intoxicated, disobeying a police officer and use of mobile electronic devices while driving. He is scheduled to appear in Salem District Court on Jan. 14, 2016.

Two passengers were taken into protective custody, Abel Rodriguez, 28, and Luise Leonard, 22, both of Lawrence, Mass.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information should contact Trooper A.J. Marciano at the New Hampshire State Police – Troop B Barracks at 603-223-4381.
