MANCHESTER, NH – Ryan Gorman is not your traditional portrait artist, in that he prefers spray cans to paint palettes and gets lost in the chaos of color.

But he also breaks the typical mold because he came to art later in his life – in fact, he says, releasing his inner artist after a brush with resolve over continuing his sobriety literally saved his life.

So when Gorman was asked to use his art to liven up Manchester’s Bernie Sanders campaign headquarters, he was thrilled. And when campaign officials upped the ante, to include all of Sanders’ New Hampshire campaign sites, Gorman wanted to pinch himself.

But he was too busy dreaming up a concept to sit around pinching himself. What he came up with, and why, is revealed in the video above, where Gorman also gives a shout-out to his “art sensei, Mike “Gonzo” Gonzales, and elaborates on the importance of artistic expression in a time of uncertainty on planet earth, both politically and personally.
