Ten players from 2018 champion Fisher Cats invited to Blue Jays spring training

Screen Shot 2018 01 16 at 7.35.17 AMTORONTO, Ont., Canada – The Toronto Blue Jays announced the non-roster invitees to their spring training this weekend and Fisher Cat fans should be pretty familiar with many of the names.

Among the 16 invitees, 10 played for the Fisher Cats during their 2018 Eastern League Championship season.

Within that group of 10 invitees, five (Patrick Cantwell, Bo Bichette, Cavan Biggio, Santiago Espinal and Forrest Wall) were in the lineup when the Fisher Cats clinched the pennant against the Akron Rubber Ducks.

Toronto’s first Spring Training game takes place on Saturday, Feb. 23 (1:07 p.m.) in Dunedin, Fla. Against the Detroit Tigers. Pitchers and Catchers are scheduled to report to camp on Thursday, Feb. 14.
