Teen stabbed in back trying to break up a fight on Union Street

MANCHESTER, NH — Police are investigating a Monday night stabbing that left an 18-year-old wounded.

According to police the victim arrived at the Elliot Hospital at 7:20 p.m. on Nov. 14 for treatment of a single stab wound to his upper back, described as serious but non-life threatening. The responding officers spoke with the victim prior to him being treated and he stated the incident allegedly took place near Spruce Street and Union Street.

The victim said he witnessed an altercation and attempted to intervene to prevent a person from being assaulted at which time he was stabbed.

The victim’s condition worsened so he was unable to provide additional information to police at that time. The investigation remains active.
