MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester Police responded to an incident involving multiple individuals on April 16, 2017 outside of the now closed Fire and Ice Hookah Lounge. An Uber driver captured the incident on his dash cam, which helped police identify four individuals involved in the melee.
Officers Michael McGee and Ryan Hardy viewed the video and positively identified four employees of Fire & Ice. All four men were believed to have been Fire & Ice employees on the night of the incident. The officers prepared arrest warrants for the following: Gabriel DeLamota, 27; James Santiago-DeJesus, 36; Jeremy Torres, 36, all of Manchester; and a fourth individual who has not yet been arrested.
Members of the Community Policing Division arrested Santiago-DeJesus at his Beech Street residence on May 18, 2017. Santiago was charged with riot (felony), second-degree assault (felony); simple assault (misdemeanor) and criminal threatening (misdemeanor). He was released on $3,500 cash/surety bail and is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on June 22, 2017.
Torres turned himself in at police headquarters on May 20, 2017 and was released on $3,000 personal recognizance bail. He is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on June 15, 2017 to answer to the charge of riot (felony).
DeLamota turned himself in at police headquarters on May 23, 2017 on the outstanding arrest warrant for riot. He appeared in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on May 24, 2017.
Earlier this month Manchester Police petitioned to shut down Fire & Ice, a popular hookah bar on Elm Street that they say has become a “nuisance” business due to repeated calls for police service, including the April 16 disturbance. The business was cited for violation of RSA 179:27, II – served or allowed consumption of alcoholic beverages in areas not approved by the Liquor Commission, three counts. They were also cited for violation of RSA 179:51 – insufficient lighting, two counts. Dates of violations: October 9, 2016 and December 30, 2016.
