MANCHESTER, NH – Officer Matthew Mara responded to a serious crash involving personal injury at 12:25 p.m. on June 7 in front of 163 South Beech St. The officer observed Manchester Fire and AMR personnel loading two individuals into separate ambulances due to injuries sustained in a crash involving a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt and a 2007 Mack truck.

The operator of the Chevrolet was identified as Christopher Langill, 33, of Manchester. Langill was driving north on South Beech Street when he allegedly swerved into the southbound lane before swerving back into the northbound lane where he stuck a parked tractor-trailer unit. The tractor-trailer was parked in the northbound lane, but facing southerly at the time of the crash. Fortunately, the operator of the truck was not inside of the cab when Langill crashed into the front end of the Mack truck.

Langill and his passenger, Mark Wilson, 26, no fixed address, both sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries. Both sustained multiple internal injuries as a result of the crash.

Manchester traffic investigators concluded that Langill had injected heroin sometime prior to the crash, so he was charged with operating under the influence of drugs. Langill was charged at the hospital where he will remain for several days. He was booked in absentia and released from custody at 12:45 a.m. June 8 after the bail commissioner met with him in his hospital room. He was released on $10,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on July 13, 2017.
