MANCHESTER, NH – On the morning of August 27, 2017, just after midnight, Officer Megowen of the Manchester Police Dept. responded to the ER of the Catholic Medical Center for a 17 year old male juvenile exhibiting a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his face. The juvenile stated that he had been sitting on a park bench at Adventure Park, when another male subject approached him and shot him in the face without provocation.

The initial canvas of the neighborhood revealed a spent shell casing in the area of 207 Pine St. A witness described a yellow vehicle fleeing from the scene at a high rate of speed after the shooting. This vehicle was subsequently located on Main Street, with blood and ballistic evidence inside. It was seized and further processed by members of the Investigative Division.

The investigation into this incident, which was led by Detective Michael Valenti of the Juvenile Division, resulted in the issuance of an arrest warrant charging Wade Gop, 22, of Manchester with attempted murder. This began a citywide search for Gop culminating in his arrest this evening by members of the Special Enforcement Division (SED) and the Gang Prevention Unit, who employed extensive surveillance efforts to locate Gop and safely effect his arrest. Gop is shown in the photos below.
