MANCHESTER, NH – Enjoy these last days of fall while you can.
Once we have Thanksgiving under our belts, and pass go during Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, all that’s left – aside from the leftovers – is the promise of winter in New Hampshire.
On Sunday, a relatively non-descript and otherwise seasonally balmy November morning took a momentary turn for the wintry mix – wind kicked up around 10 a.m. and brought with it a snow squall. Thanks to our official Weather Watcher (my husband, Jim) for alerting us to the action.
You can see a 45-second clip from my front steps, with the now-familiar view of my quiet neighborhood as prelude of wintry weather that is coming, sooner than later. The squall only lasted for a few minutes, but reminded me to dig my shovels out of the shed so I’m ready to dig out whenever the first snow dump arrives.
There is good news, for those not quite ready for winter’s prime time: For the foreseeable forecasted future, you can continue to enjoy daily temperatures in the 40s, as per The Weather Underground. Winter officially begins Dec. 21, by the way.
