Student assault under investigation at Central High School

MANCHESTER, NH – Police are investigating a “physical assault” of a student that took place at Central High School on Nov. 29.

According to a message sent to parents by Central Principal John Vaccarezza, a student was assaulted by another student. In an initial message released to parents, Vaccarezza noted that school staff “immediately intervened” and police are investigating. He also noted that the incident had been recorded on video.

Superintendent Dr. Bolgen Vargas confirmed that the assault took place in a statement released later which read:

“Unfortunately, a student physically assaulted another student at Central High School today. The school will not tolerate any inappropriate behaviors and has taken immediate action against the perpetrator.  Our families and students can rest assured the safety of our students is our main priority.”

No further official information was immediately available from the school district or police.
