Members of the striking IBEW Unions of FairPoint Communications were joined and supported by people representing 57 different unions at the Holt Avenue office on Oct. 24.

Also joining the line was Liz Shuler the Secretary-Treasurer of the AFL-CIO national office, who has been making the rounds at various strike locations to help boost morale. Members of the picket line yelled and taunted replacement workers and managers as they crossed the line.

The nearly 2,000 members of the Electrical Workers (IBEW) and Communications Workers of America (CWA) went on strike against FairPoint Communications in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont on Oct. 17 over what the unions say is the company’s unwillingness to bargain in good faith.
