MANCHESTER, NH – Whether you’re a fan of televised CSI crime dramas, or just someone who wonders what the life of a Manchester Police officer is all about, you’re a prime candidate to join the 27th session of the Manchester Police Department’s ongoing Citizens Police Academy.  The class is scheduled to begin March 29, 2017.  All classes will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. at the Manchester Police Department, located at 405 Valley St.

The eight-week program provides a window into the overall work of our police force. It’s designed to inform residents about the various departmental duties within MPD and how they work daily to serve and protect the community. The course consists of a classroom format led by our Community Policing department, with some limited participation for those who enjoy hands-on learning. A certificate is presented to each participant upon completion of the course.

A background check is routinely required.

Upon acceptance into the program, you can expect an informative session examining different aspects of police work at the Manchester Police Department.  You will be exposed to the glamour and excitement you associate with police work, along with the processes that are less glamorous but vital to day-to-day operations.

There is no fee to attend this program.  You will be required to fill out a brief application along with the background check prior to participating.

If you would like additional information, or an application regarding this program, please visit the Manchester Police Department website at www.manchesterpd.com.   Click on the Citizen’s Police Academy link to access the on-line application.

Space in this class is limited.
