CONCORD, NH — State Police are looking for a trucker who slid into a State Police cruiser and launched it into the median before leaving the scene.

At approximately 6:04 p.m. a New Hampshire State Trooper was stopped on the side of the road on Route 89, southbound in Warner. The trooper was stopped to assist a motorist who had gone off the road. The trooper had his emergency lights turned on and the trooper was in the cruiser when a tractor trailer struck the cruiser.

The truck driver, who was travelling too fast for the conditions according to State Police, tried to slow down and the trailer veered to the right and struck the trooper’s car. The impact propelled the cruiser 283 feet before it came to rest in the median off the right side of the road.

The trooper was transported to the Concord Hospital for minor injuries. The truck driver, after striking the cruiser, pulled to the side of the road. He then fled the scene.

The vehicle had a dark colored cab, possibly with a sleeper. The trailer was reported to be a white box type trailer with a Canadian registration plate. Anyone with information on the vehicle is encouraged to call Sgt. William Graham at 603-271-3636.
