Colonel Robert Quinn, Director of the New Hampshire State Police and Chief John Bryfonski of the Bedford Police Department announce that during the weekend of August 22, 2014, State Police Troopers from Troop B in Bedford and Officers of the Bedford Police Department will conduct a Sobriety Checkpoint in Bedford, New Hampshire.

The checkpoint is authorized by the Hillsborough County Superior Court, and will be conducted under guidelines promulgated by the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office.

The New Hampshire State Police and the Bedford Police consider the identification and apprehension of impaired drivers and enforcement of the Driving While Intoxicated statutes to be a top priority. Sobriety checkpoints are one of the best methods of deterring the impaired driver.
