Time to make room for some new stuff.

MANCHESTER, NH – Studio 550 will be hosting its second annual Spring Cleaning sale of pottery and other handmade goods created by students and staff.  Items will be priced $5-$20.  The selection will vary from artist to artist, but there may be cups, bowls, mugs, vases, plates, boxes and more. This is an opportunity for artists to clear out old or slightly blemished work to make room for new work and for the community to find local pottery and artwork for a discounted price.  There will also be a selection succulent plant babies in handmade ceramic planters available.

The sale will be open during normal business hours on April 7 from 3-9 p.m. and April 8 from 1-9 p.m.

New to the sale this year is a “Get it GONE for GOOD” table of unclaimed workshop pottery from any clay workshop here that is older than six months. Everything on the “Gone for good” tables will be a dollar or less, or open to whatever the purchaser would like to donate. Proceeds will be donated to the Craft Emergency Relief Fund, a non-profit organization that assists craftspeople who have recently experienced a natural disaster or medial emergency. CERF provides grants to them get back on their feet and in the studio making work.

Disclaimer: The Studio has emailed and called the makers of the old workshop pieces several times, but their pottery is still here. Of course, if the creator of any of these pieces comes, they would not have to pay to take their pieces home! If anyone suspects they have old pottery here, they should contact the studio to claim their pieces prior to the sale, while the pottery is still sorted by date. After the sale, the work will be discarded, donated, or repurposed.
