MANCHESTER, N.H. – It took 11 innings, but the Fisher Cats finally left Friday with a win, defeating the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, 1-0.

The breakthrough came from Chad Spanberger’s line drive single to left, bringing home Cullen Large from third after Large started the inning at second and moved to third on a Logan Warmoth sacrifice bunt.

As the score would attest, opportunities were hard to come by, with both teams combining to reach third base only twice in regulation.

Binghamton loaded the bases in the top of the tenth, but Fisher Cats reliever Vinny Nittoli entered and immediately forced a double play to end the threat.

Nittoli earned the win to climb to 3-2, although Fisher Cats starting pitcher Thomas Hatch deserves credit for the win as well, allowing just three hits over seven innings of work.

Binghamton’s Mickey Jannis went toe-to-toe with Hatch, lasting eight innings in the no-decision, with Blake Taylor earning his first Eastern League loss of the year with his extra inning earned run.

The two teams meet again on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
