GILBERT, Ariz. – Southern New Hampshire University redshirt junior Cassidy Huckins (Loudon, N.H.) became a 2018 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II All-American on Tuesday, making her the first field hockey All-American in school history.
Huckins was a Second Team All-America honoree after leading the Penmen in goals with 13 and total points with 30. She also earned First Team All-Northeast-10 Conference selection honors and started each of Southern New Hampshire’s 19 games in 2018. Huckins finished eighth in the NE10 in both points and goals while adding a pair of game-winning tallies for SNHU.
Southern New Hampshire turned in its most successful season in 2018, as it finished 10-9 overall with an 8-5 mark within the confines of the Northeast-10 Conference. The Penmen set a single-season record for overall wins as well as conference victories. She also qualified for the NE10 Championship for the first time in school history.
