EASTON, Mass. – Another doubleheader, similar results. Following the double loss to Bentley earlier this week, the Southern New Hampshire University men’s and women’s basketball teams dropped contests to the Skyhawks of Stonehill College on Saturday night.

In the first half of the doubleheader, Stonehill’s #19 ranked women defeated SNHU, 75-65.

Stonehill led the way for most of the contest, despite a quartet of three-pointers from junior Victoria Dean (Plymouth, Mass.) and the tenth straight double-digit performance from junior Kylie Lorenzen (Holliston, Mass.)

Dean’s 16 points shared the lead with fellow Plymouth, Mass. Native and Stonehill junior Gabrielle Reuter.

On the men’s side, Stonehill posted a 78-64 victory over SNHU.

The Penmen kept things close early, but a 15-2 Stonehill run midway through the first half kept the lead firmly in the Skyhawks’ hands for the rest of the evening.

Senior Daquaise Andrews (Queens, N.Y.) led all scorers with 23 points, while junior Will Moreton (Minneapolis, Minn.) led Stonehill with 20.

Andrews is now averaging 21.8 points per game, just below the Northeast-10 Conference lead currently held by Southern Connecticut’s Isaiah McLeod, who put up 21 at Pace on Saturday.

The Penmen return home for another mixed-gender doubleheader on Saturday, Dec. 15 against Franklin Pierce.
