MANCHESTER, NH – Police say “smash and grab” thefts from cars continued over the weekend, now totally about 70 thefts since November 1, a majority of them happening in the millyard between the hours of 7 p.m. and 2 a.m.

The perpetrator is most likely entering a vehicle that has at least one valuable item left in plain sight, police say.

The Manchester Police Department started a Lock It or Lose It campaign several weeks ago which reminds residents to lock vehicles and remove valuables before leaving vehicles behind, including parked at your residence. Leaving valuables in plain view is one key incentive for thieves.

Police continue to seek the public’s help in identifying the subject in the above photograph, seen in the area of the thefts on November 19, 2014. Detectives would like to identify him and speak with him about the recent rash of thefts.

Detectives are also interested in tips that may provide information on other suspects. If you know who this individual is, please contact the Manchester Police Department Detective Division at 603-668-8711. You may be eligible for a cash reward if your information leads to the identification and successful prosecution of the party responsible for the thefts. If you prefer to remain anonymous, please call the Manchester Police Crimeline at 603-624-4040.
