HOOKSETT, NH – A convicted sex offender from Manchester was arrested at the Firebird Motel, charged with failure to register, as well as drug charges.

On August 5, 2017 at 8:42 p.m., Officer Michael Carpentier was in the parking lot of the Firebird Motel when he made contact with a man who identified himself as “Jack.” Officer Carpentier checked the motel’s room check-in logs which identified the man as Jeffrey Allen, 51, of Manchester. Officer Carpentier was advised by dispatch that Allen had an active arrest warrant out of Hillsborough County Superior Court-North for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, which is a felony.

Hooksett Police,  with assistance from Manchester Police, attempted to make contact with Allen in the room where he was last seen, but he refused to exit the room. A search warrant was applied for and granted to make entry into the room to take Allen into custody. Entry was made into the room and Allen was taken into custody without any further issue.

While taking Allen into custody, drugs and drug paraphernalia were located inside the room. A second search warrant was applied for and granted. Upon completion of the search warrant, police seized marijuana and a loaded syringe believed to contain heroin. Along with the Hillsborough County warrant, Allen was charged with obstructing government administration, resisting arrest or detention, and two counts of possession of drugs. Allen refused bail and was transported to the Merrimack County Jail for arraignment.
