MANCHESTER, NH – The National Weather Service in Gray, Maine, has issued a  severe thunderstorm warning for Western Strafford County in central New Hampshire, central Hillsborough County in southern New Hampshire, southeastern Carroll County in northern New Hampshire, Belknap County in central New Hampshire, northwestern Rockingham County in southern New Hampshire, Merrimack County in central New Hampshire, until 10 a.m.

At 9:06 a.m. severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Franklin to near Sharon, moving east at 55 mph.

Hazard: 60 m.p.h. wind gusts.

Impact: Expect damage to roofs, siding and trees.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms…and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
