“We have worked tirelessly over the past several months with our federal partners in Washington to demand increased innovation and flexibility in how our state runs Medicaid program,” Sununu said.  “The Granite Advantage Health Care Program is a New Hampshire plan that protects taxpayers and the General Fund, saves the federal taxpayers approximately $200 million, provides 50,000 Granite Staters with healthcare, and stabilizes our individual market. I applaud the Senate for overwhelmingly passing this fiscally responsible plan today, and would like to thank Senator Morse and Bradley for their leadership in this critical effort.”

Also weighing in, Michele Merritt, President and CEO of New Futures, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that advocates on health issues through policy change, emphasized the reauthorization of Medicaid Expansion by the bill’s passage.

“Thank you to the Senators who voted in support of SB 313, which reauthorizes New Hampshire’s Medicaid Expansion program and ensures continued health care coverage for more than 50,000 Granite Staters. Not only is this program essential to keeping the Granite State healthy, but it is also crucial to supporting New Hampshire’s vibrant economy,” Merritt said.

“We look forward to continuing to work with our lawmakers and other advocates to move SB 313 through the House and pass it into law.”
