Second inmate ‘walks away’ from Calumet House

MANCHESTER, NH — The New Hampshire Department of Corrections reports that a minimum security inmate walked away from the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit and was placed on escape status.  This is the second one in 24 hours.  Charles Arthur Namiot, 43, whose last known address was Manchester, left for work at 5:10 am on July 24, 2-15 and failed to return at his scheduled time of 6:00 pm.

Namiot is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, 190 pounds, with sandy hair and hazel eyes.  He has a tattoo on his left shoulder and scars on his right arm and right leg.

He is serving a 2 to 8 year sentence for Armed Robbery out of Hillsborough County Superior Court in Manchester with 26 days of time served credited to his sentence.  He was admitted to the NH State Prison on December 3, 2015 and was eligible for parole on September 7, 2015. His maximum release date will be November 4, 2021.

The New Hampshire Department of Corrections Investigations Bureau and New Hampshire State Police are investigating,  Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call their local law enforcement agency or the New Hampshire State Prison at 603-271-1801.
