MANCHESTER, NH – Scott “Scotty” McDonough, 25, of Manchester, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Catholic Medical Center.
Born in Manchester, he is the son of Sheila (McDonough) Atwater and Scott Menns. Raised and educated in Manchester, he worked as a woodworker for American Pride Woodworking of Derry.
A beloved son, brother, and friend, Scotty loved spending time with his family and many dear friends. Scotty was an avid outdoorsman whose great passion was taking in the sights and sounds of nature. He enjoyed sky diving, rock climbing, hiking and riding his dirt bike. In his younger years, Scotty earned his Black Belt in Karate. A fervent sports fan, Scotty enjoyed playing soccer, baseball, and football. Scotty will be best remembered for his kind heart and love of family.
Scotty is survived by his mother, Sheila Atwater and husband Mike of Prescott Valley, AZ; father, Scott Menns and wife Jo-Ann of Londonderry; two brothers, Alexander E. Menns and Richard Gangi; sister, Tanya (Moulton) Libby; maternal grandparents, Dennis and Michele Spaziano; great grandparents, Robert and Francis Latulippe; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Scotty was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Albert Menns and Mary Randall.
His Memorial Gathering will be held in the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester on Friday, April 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 7 p.m. Friends and relatives invited. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Scotty’s memory to The Upper Room, a family resource center located in Derry.
