RINDGE, N.H. – The cylinders are clicking for what looks like a reborn Saint Anselm football squad, churning out a second straight victory with a 50-10 statement win over Franklin Pierce.

Senior quarterback Eric Fairweather (Londonderry N.H.) led the Hawks to 43 unanswered first half points, completing 16 of his 27 passes, throwing for 150 yards with four touchdowns and an interception. Two of those touchdowns went to senior Nick Fiorillo (Westford, Mass.), with sophomore Franklin Holgate (Easton, Mass.) and senior Malik Alen (West Orange, N.J.) grabbing Fairweather’s other passing scores. After Saturday’s contest, Fairweather stands just two passing touchdowns short of the record of 66 set by Yianni Gavalas (‘16).

Fairweather also ran in a touchdown and freshman Devin Williams (Cliffwood, N.J.) returned a blocked punt from just inches away from the end zone for another score.

Williams blocked another punt as well, becoming the first player in Saint Anselm history to block two punts in a game.

Sophomore Bobby Long (Bridgewater, Mass.) also caught a touchdown from sophomore Perrin Conant (Kennebunk, Maine) after replacing Fairweather in the second half.

Next week, the Hawks (2-5) host the Southern Connecticut State Owls (2-5) for their second-to-last home contest of the year.
