MYRTLE BEACH, NC — Ruth Ann Lamarche, 61, of North Myrtle Beach, passed away on December 26, 2017.
Ruth was born in Cambridge, Mass., on June 1, 1956, to the late Francis and Barbara Richard.
After college, Ruth moved to New Boston where she married her childhood sweetheart, Bob, and started her career as a math teacher in Allenstown. Ruth and Bob then started a family and raised their two daughters in New Boston while Ruth went on to teach at Southside Middle School for more than 30 years.
Ruth loved the beach, hiking, gardening, and generally staying active and outdoors as much as possible.
After retiring from teaching, Ruth and Bob moved to North Myrtle Beach where they loved to walk the beach with their dog Ronnie, take bike rides, and spend time with friends. Though Ruth was plagued by illness late in life, and this year lost her husband of 38 years, her strong will and positive outlook allowed her to find a way to enjoy each day.
She is survived by daughters Michelle Labbe, and Lisa Lamarche; son-in-law Dennis Labbe; two granddaughters, Makayla and Fiona Labbe; and her siblings James Richard, Peter Richard, Michael Richard, and Janet Richard.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation: bcrf.org.
SERVICES: A celebration of life will be held for Ruth and her late husband Bob at Phaneuf Funeral Home and Crematorium, located at 243 Hanover St., Manchester on Friday December 29 at 10 a.m. Friends and family are invited to attend.
