Rose Connor-Allard, 58: VFW Post 8214 Commander, served her country and community

MANCHESTER, NH – Rose H. Connor-Allard, 58, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2017 at her home surrounded by loving family and her three cats.

Rose was born in Nashua on March 10, 1959, to Robert B. and Helen E. (King) Connor. She attended grade school and high school in Milford, NH.

Rose served in the U.S. Army, having spent a year in Korea (1979-1980), and was honorably discharged as an SP 5 Payroll Specialist. Rose graduated from New Hampshire College (now SNHU) with a Bachelor’s of Science degree. She worked for several years in various accounting, payroll, and human resources positions. Rose was also a Notary Public who provided free notary services to veterans. With her husband, she enjoyed cruising the Caribbean and snowmobiling. Rose also enjoyed volunteering with local animal charities and continued serving her community and country as the current VFW Commander of U.S. Post 8214-Manchester, and was a lifetime member of the VFW and of the Women in Military Service Association, and a member of the American Legion, KWVA, and the Cooties.

Rose is survived by her loving husband, Michael Allard of Manchester; her sister Katrinka Libby and her husband, Peter; her two nephews, Pete Jr. and Connor; and great niece, Mayla, all of Weatherford, TX. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her two brothers, James and Bradley.

SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, from 3-6 p.m. at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. VFW Ceremony and Rites of Christian Burial will be held at 6 p.m. Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 3, at 12:00P.M. at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH. Please make donations in lieu of flowers in Rose’s memory to any honorable animal charity or honorable veterans’ organization.
