Romano named Eastern League Player of the Week

PORTLAND, Maine – The Eastern League has named Jordan Romano as Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the period of July 16-22.

In two starts, Romano allowed just two runs in 14 2/3 innings with a strikeout/walk ratio of 12:1.

Romano was unable to earn a win against in New Hampshire’s victory against Trenton on July 16 despite his seventh quality start of the year. However, he took the win on July 21, allowing just three hits in eight innings of work against Harrisburg.

That win was Romano’s first since a string of eight straight Eastern League wins from April 11 to May 22.
