Robert Vitagliano Jr., 76: Longtime Little League coach, outdoorsman; loved spending time with family and granddogs

BEDFORD, NH –  Robert “Bob” A. Vitagliano, 76, beloved husband of Carol (George) Vitagliano of 54 years, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Sunday, February 19, 2017, at Catholic Medical Center.

Bob was born in Penacook on January 13, 1941, the son of the late Robert and Beatrice (Hewitt) Vitagliano.

He worked for many years as a salesman in the tri-state area. He loved hunting, fishing, boating and being outdoors. He also coached Bedford Little League, “The Lions” for many years. Bob was a fun-loving man who had a good sense of humor and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Carol G. (Hewitt) Vitagliano; son Bruce and his wife Melissa, of Manchester; sister, Carole Carlson of Gloucester, MA; two grandchildren; two nieces and a nephew; four granddogs and his best buddy “Oliver” his cat.

He was predeceased by his son, Mark R. Vitagliano in 2013.

SERVICES: A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, February 24, from 5 – 7 p.m. at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St., in Manchester. A Celebration of Life will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. The Reverend Douglas Rickard, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to ALS Association, NNE Chapter, 10 Ferry Street, #309, Concord, NH 03301, or to American Cancer Society, 2 Commerce Drive, #110, Bedford, NH 03110.
