Robber pours lighter fluid on cashier booth, threatens to set it on fire

MANCHESTER, NH – Police are investigating a robbery at Speedway Gas early Tuesday in which the robber poured lighter fluid on the cashier’s booth and threatened to light it on fire.

Screen Shot 2015-12-01 at 7.43.26 AMOn December 1, at approximately 12:10 a.m., units responded to Speedway Gas, 805 Massabesic St., for a reported robbery. Officer Alexander Martens spoke with the clerk who said she was working in the secured booth when the robber walked up to the window and began pouring lighter fluid on the booth. The man threatened to ignite the booth if she failed to give him cash from the register. Fearing for her safety, she emptied the cash register and handed the assailant an undisclosed amount of cash.

Screen Shot 2015-12-01 at 7.43.21 AMThe robber is described as approximately 5-foot-8 inches tall, and was last seen walking toward Hayward Street. He was wearing a blue coat, black ski mask, and light colored gloves when he committed the robbery.
