Robber with knife takes cash, Lotto tickets, from Crosstown Variety

MANCHESTER, NH – An armed robbery took place July 5 at Crosstown Variety, 270 Amory St., at approximately 3 p.m. The clerk told police that a man entered the store and walked toward the counter as if he were purchasing an item. He started reaching for money once the clerk opened the cash register drawer.

The clerk yelled at the robber to stop, which prompted the robber to pull out a box-cutter style knife. The robber threatened to harm the clerk, so the clerk backed away. The robber removed an undisclosed amount of cash and a handful of lottery tickets from the store before fleeing on foot.

He was described as a white male, approximately 6-feet-tall, 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing all black clothing to including a T-shirt, shorts, sneakers, hat and sunglasses. He ran toward the rear of the store before the clerk lost sight of him.
