Robber armed with knife hits Union Street Market

MANCHESTER, NH — Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a robber who threatened a clerk at Union Street market with a knife on Wednesday night.

Officer Peter Flanagan responded to Union Street Market,  621 Union Street, at approximately 8:15 p.m. March 23 for an armed robbery. The victim, Jeevan Adhikari, told police he was robbed by a man brandishing a large knife.

Adhikari described the suspect as a white male, approximately 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10 with a slender to average build. He appeared to be in his early 20s and was last seen wearing a dark brown winter coat with dark green pants and a black mask, which covered half of his face. The victim said the knife appeared to be a “hunting style” knife.

The assailant reached over the counter and removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the cash register before fleeing on foot. He was last seen heading north on Union Street.
