Residents ‘sheltering in place’ on Hartshorn Way due to standoff with despondent man

MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester Police Officers responded to Hartshorn Way for a report of a despondent man who has made suicidal threats.

Initial reports indicate the man, age 41, is armed with several guns.

Members of the Manchester Police SWAT Team were dispatched around 1 p.m. to the area based on the statements made by the despondent man.

Members of the Manchester Police SWAT team evacuated at least one nearby residence and have asked additional residents in the immediate neighborhood to shelter in place until the incident is resolved, and school buses have been detoured to an alternative location.

Several roads in the immediate area are closed to through-traffic.
