You can become a Red Cross Disaster Relief volunteer.

CONCORD, NH — The American Red Cross is a workforce that is made up of a 90 percent volunteer staff. Volunteers from all walks of life with varying experiences bring their talent and compassion to help deliver the Red Cross Mission – to alleviate suffering.

In the New Hampshire and Vermont region, the Red Cross deploys volunteers to respond to disasters that displace families, on average, every 20 hours. A strong corps of volunteers trained to deliver comfort and care is priority to ensure that no family goes without.

The need for volunteers across the region is critical. While pockets of dedicated volunteers continue to support the people in their territories around our two states, more hands are needed for the work that the Red Cross does here in New Hampshire and Vermont.

To train additional Red Cross volunteers in northern New Hampshire, a Disaster Bootcamp will be held October 12 – 14 in Bethlehem. People who have some time to volunteer are urged to sign up as a Red Cross volunteer and join this expedited training so that when the call goes out, volunteers will mobilize.

Disaster Bootcamp is a fast-track training opportunity for individuals interested in becoming a Red Cross Disaster Responder. The Bootcamp is a two-and-a-half-day training to become a Disaster Response Volunteer. It is also an opportunity for current Disaster Responders to brush up on vital skills. You must sign up online before attending.
