MANCHESTER, NH — It’s that time of year again and we need you!  Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted when the filing period opens at 8 a.m. on July 8, 2019 through 5 p.m. on July 19, 2019.  There is no better way to make a difference in your local government than serving in any one of a variety of elected positions from mayor or alderman, to ward moderator, ward clerk, or selectman.
This filing period will also include candidates interested in serving on the Manchester School District Charter Commission recently approved by the legislature (HB 544).

The nine candidates receiving the most votes from across the city at the November 5, 2019 Municipal General Election will go on to serve as the representatives tasked with developing a local procedure to revise, amend, or replace the Manchester school district charter.  Please note that at the time of this email, HB 544 has not been signed into law by Governor Sununu which could impact the necessity of electing candidates for this commission.

Our local elections do not happen without the help of the hundreds of community volunteers who sign up every two years to commit to a number of these very important positions.  Please consider submitting your candidacy form next week.  There is no filing fee for most positions.
