Manchester, NH – Equal servings of a healthy breakfast and an enduring commitment to a healthier community were on the menu as the Queen City Rotary Club hosted its annual Grants Breakfast recently.
The Queen Rotary Club welcomed over 40 area non-profits to its event and made more than $50,000 in charitable donations.“This event is one of the highlights of our year,” said Queen City Rotary Club President Peter Labombarde. “We are thrilled to provide financial support to these amazing non-profits and hear more about their efforts on behalf of those less fortunate.”
Accompanied by incoming Rotary Club President Monique Ruth, Mr. Labombarde presented checks to the following organizations:

Cole Royal, Assistant Rotary Club Governor for District 2, was also in attendance and presented Mr. Labombarde with a special certificate in recognition of the Queen City Rotary Club’s efforts in Greater Manchester.
With a strong focus on youth at risk and others in need, the Queen City Rotary Club holds two major fund-raisers each year (The Queen City Quest each October and the Comedy Bowl each January). Club members also engage in dozens of community service projects annually. Recent efforts have included: clean-up and painting projects at the Webster House and Boys and Girls Club of Manchester, a ramp building project at a non-accessible apartment building and mentoring efforts at the UpReach Therapeutic Riding Center.
“We’re completely volunteer driven,” noted Mr. Labombarde. “Our membership is over 60 strong and comprised primarily of community organizations and small business owners. Our members organize all of the special events as well as community projects and everyone contributes via financial donations and volunteer service.”
