MANCHESTER, NH — Spring cleaning includes your outdoor spaces, so while you’re out there removing old pool noodles from the back of the shed and broken yard tools from the garage, see if you have any kid bikes that could be repurposed by QC Bike Collective.

On April 2 you are invited to bring any bicycles you’re no longer using to the Donate Bike Day collection, 373 Union St.

QC Bike Collective is dedicated to its mission of helping Manchester area residents ride safe, affordable bikes, and gives them a chance to roll up their sleeves and fix them at their Union Street work space. Access to tools, equipment and expertise are available during Open Shop every Tuesday from 5 to 8 p..m.

A new collaborative program for 2017, announced March 29 during Mayor Gatsas’ budget address, is Earn a Bike, an educational, hands-on mechanical training program for a small group of participants, who can “earn” a used bicycle by building it from the ground up, as well as instruction on safe riding, and other benefits, through their participation.
