Public meeting on innovative health initiative aimed at improving care for veterans and families

CONCORD, NH – On Thursday, March 16, 2017, the New Hampshire Legislative Commission on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury will meet to learn more about the “First in the Nation” Military Liaison Initiative.

The presentation is scheduled for  2:45 – 3:45 p.m as part of NH Commission on PTSD and TBI regular meeting, which runs from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. at the Walker Building, 21 South Fruit St., Concord.

New Hampshire is the first state in the nation to embed military liaisons in community mental health centers to improve access to and quality of care for all veterans, service members, and their families. The mission of the Military Liaison Initiative is to strengthen systems for identifying military members being served; enhance military cultural competence; and partner with civilian-military partners and the community.

The Community Mental Health Commission’s military liaison team will report to the Commission on the Initiative’s accomplishments over the past 18 months.

The meeting is public and all interested citizens are welcome.
