MANCHESTER, NH – Motivational speaker and author of The Sweet Spot, Dr. Christine Carter, will present at The Derryfield School on Thursday, February 1 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. in the Lyceum as part of the E. Charles Sanborn Visiting Fellow Program.

Drawing on what psychology, sociology, and neuroscience have shown both about success and fulfillment – and using her own chaotic and often hilarious real-world experiences as the mother of four teens to demonstrate do’s and don’ts in action – Carter gives parents practical tips for nurturing both achievement and happiness in teenagers today.

Carter’s presentation, “Most Likely to Succeed? Helping Kids to Fulfill Their Potential,” will address three topics: how to increase our teens’ tolerance for discomfort and disappointment so they can better rise to challenges; how technology and social media are undermining our kids’ focus, and what we can do to help; and how to help teens combat feelings of entitlement, self-centeredness, and anxiety.
