Police are looking for leads on a robbery Wednesday at Brother’s Express. MPD

MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester Police are investigating an armed robbery which happened Oct. 3 at approximately 9:40 p.m. at Brother’s Express, 217 Union St. Officers spoke with the clerk who told them that a man entered the store and demanded cash as he proceeded to reach for an unknown item in his pocket.

The clerk also said the assailant threatened to shoot him if he failed to retrieve money from the register. The man kept his hand inside of his pocket while clutching an item the clerk believed to be a gun. The clerk had locked the registers moments before and did not have the key, so he moved away from the cash register and walked in the opposite direction of the would-be robber.

The man fled the scene as soon as he realized the clerk could not open the cash register. The clerk was unable to provide a detailed description of the man, who appeared to be of average height and weight, with light skin, wearing a blue jacket with the hood tightened around his face.  The suspect fled the store prior to police arrival, so it is unknown if he left on foot or in a vehicle.
